1. Make the Japanese omelet. Hmm... it doesn't look so good...
But I won't give up! Next!

2. Mince the onion, and fry it with butter until it becomes brown and translucent like the fourth picture.

3. Add the ketchup into the pan, and mix the ketchup and the onion.
Here's the point!
If you heat the ketchup before you mix the ketchup with other ingredients, they don't become watery!
That's the reason why I put the ketchup into the center of the pan.

4. Cut the Vienna sausage into little pieces.

5. Add the Vienna sausage into the pan, add the ketchup, and mix them well. After that, add the Crazy solt proper amount.

6. Get ready to add rice.

7. Add rice, ketchup, and the Crazy solt, and mix them up. Season the rice with the ketchup and the Crazy solt.

8. Dish the rice up.

9. Cover the rice with Japanese omelet.

10. Write or draw something on Japanese omelet, and completion!
I tried to write "omurice," but I could write only "om." However, you can see "urice" in the air because you are imaginative!

Usually, you may use the chicken in the rice, but I use the Vienna sausage instead of the chicken, and it goes with the ketchup rice! Using the Vienna sausage is easier maybe, so I recommend you to use the Vienna sausage in the rice.
I learned that it is difficult to make the Japanese omelet fluffy, but it is important not to give up.
I need to keep in practice in making Japanese omelet.

If you like this recipe, please try to make it, and tell me what you wrote/drew on Japanese omelet!
See you again!
See you again!
I don't like kethcup so I always use butter rice in my omurice. Do you know where omurice came from? I have only seen it in Japan so I wonder if it is a Japanese dish or if it is a foreign dish that the Japanese adapted for Japanese taste... interesting.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment!
ReplyDeleteButter rice! It sounds delicious! Could I try to make it next time?
I researched about omurice a little bit. It came from Japan! But it is classified into Western dish. I think this fact is interesting!
Hi, Shizuka.
ReplyDeleteYou are good cook because you seems like enjoying cooking a lot:D
Do you live by yourself and cook everyday??
I also love cooking, and omu-rice is one of my favorite dishes too!
It looks very foreign style, so when I discovered that omu-rice is originally a Japanese meal, I was surprised bit.
When I studied abroad to Australia 4 years ago, I cooked omu-rice for my host family and also in America for my friend and her family a year ago.
They liked omu-rice very much and since it is easy to cook, they remenbered how to cook omu-rice and my host mother sometimes cooked omu-rice for me.
I know the difficulty of making omlet fluffy.
I often hear that if you use whipped cream, it will make omlet fluffy.
Have you tried that?
Next time I cook omu-rice, I will try the way to make omlet fluffy.
Thank you*
Hi, Yako. Thanks for the comment!
ReplyDeleteI don't know whether I am a good cook or not, but yes, I enjoy cooking so much!
No, I live with my family, and cooking is just one of my hobbies.
I see. You have some memories about omurice.
Thanks for telling me about that.
Yes, it's difficult to make an omelet fluffy! I have not used whipped cream. This is my first time to hear that the whipped cream is good to make an omelet fluffy.
Thank you for the nice advice!
I will try it.
Thank you!
